The photovoltaic cells and arrays are the heart of any solar power system. The solar arrays used in our Industrial solar power systems are made by the top manufacturers in the world - BP Solar, Suntech Power, and Sharp. All have a well earned reputation for making high quality solar electric generators for applications anywhere in the world. And with Ameresco Solar's large stocking warehouses across the nation, and over 30 different arrays to choose from (1 to 200+ watts), matching the correct array to the load is made much easier and with less chance of under powering the system.

VOLTAGE REGULATORS
The primary purpose of voltage regulators in solar power systems are as power conditioners to safely control the amount of DC voltage and amperage from the solar array to the battery. They serve to protect the battery from overcharge and undercharge Only regulators which have proven themselves superior in actual field sites and which have been tested by Factory Mutual (FM) and Underwriters Laboratory (UL) are used in our Industrial Solar Power Systems. These regulators are available to handle up to 16amps of PV array current and can be paralleled for additional capacity and reliability. Large system controllers are also available with a complete list of options including data communication radio for transmitting remote data and automatic generator starting relays for remote 48 VDC telecom hybrid sites. Approved for Class 1 Division 2 Group C and D hazardous areas.

DC or AC Power
All industrial Solar Powe Systems are available with an optional DC to AC inverter making them excellent choices for providing DC or AC power in remote areas, whether stationary or portable. Systems can also be ordered with a revolutionary variable frequency motor controller for single or three phase direct AC motor control. Systems utilize standard 115,208 or 230 VAC motors for a wide range of applications such as water pumping, water purification, cold storage, grain grinding any standard three wire AC motor up to 5 hp found anywhere in the world.
BATTERIES
Battery banks are sized to operate the average daily electrical load plus additional capacity to operate the loads in extended periods of cloudy days or "no sun days," The batteries used in our Industrial Solar Power Systems are almost exclusively sealed maintenance free deep cycle type made especially for continuous charge/discharge cycles of typical solar power systems.

BATTERY AND CONTROL ENCLOSURES
The enclosure is used to protect and house the deep cycle battery and system controller or other ancillary equipment. Protection from the natural elements such as moisture, cold and heat are essential for the preservation and long life of the battery. Equally important is protection from vandalism. Having enclosures that are well designed and well built greatly enhances the life of any remote alternative energy system.
Fabricated from aluminum, fiberglass and welded steel, these enclosures are robustly constructed and are watertight standard. They can be constructed to NEMA 3R and NEMA 4 standards or custom built to any battery and controller enclosure requirement.
Ameresco Solar also offers complete assembly, wiring, testing and special crating for the backplates housing controllers and electronics inside the enclosures as well as for any standard or custom enclosure we manufacture. We can also install insulation to protect the batteries from the harmful effects of heat and cold. These pre-wired and assembled battery systems allow for testing and special packaging prior to shipment and will greatly minimize the time and cost associated with field installation.
